Antique Art Deco Bronze Relief Portrait Plaque Polish Marshal Jozef Pilsudski
Antique Art Deco solid bronze relief portrait plaque of the Polish Marshal Jozef Pilsudski “attributed to” J. AUMILLER, cast in high relief, with stunning finely hand-chiseled details. Mounted on the wooden board adorned in the corners with four bronze polish military officer’s stars and housed in a rectangular wood frame with a thin brass inner frame with beaded design molding and decked on the exterior with four bronze brackets.
Józef (Joseph) Aumiller (1892-1963), who was an artist, sculptor, and engraver, was as well an art director of the Mennica Panstwowa (Polish State Mint) between 1925-39. He was the author of most portrait plaques from the Mennica Panstwowa (Polish State Mint).
