Antique 18th Century Silver Small Sword Double Shell Guard

Antique early 18th century solid silver small - sword guard of double asymmetrical shell form cast in high relief, and finely hand chiseled and pierced, throughout with rococo pattern involving numerous hound dogs of various breeds amongst rocailles. 
 
Stamped (hallmarked) on the inner side, near the square slot with the four silver hallmarks. Three of them in the shape of a three-leaf clover and one in the form of Maltese cross.

 8.5 cm x 7.2 cm (3.35 inches x 8.27 inches x 2.83 inches).
