Rare Model 1889 Imperial German Prussian Officer’s Sword Degen

 
 
 
 
SOLD Imperial German Prussian Officer’s Sword, Degen Model 1889, with an unusual iron hilt and folding guard with the Prussian eagle, composition grip wrapped in wire with the applied crowned gilt cypher of Kaiser Wilhelm II. 
 
The double fullered, single edge straight steel blade in its japanned steel scabbard with one suspension ring. 
 
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length in the scabbard: 91.5 cm (36 in), the Overall length without the scabbard: 90.2 cm (35 1/2). 
 
 
 
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age (showing its age and usage), iron hilt slightly pitted.
