Antique Early 19th century French Napoleonic Miniature Portrait Napoleon Bonapar

An antique, early 19th-century, circa 1804 A.D. French Napoleonic miniature portrait, finely hand-painted with a fine brush in watercolor and gouache on a natural wafer. This miniature is contemporary with the Napoleonic period and depicts young Napoleon Bonaparte as the First Consul of The French Republic.

The painting is a masterful display of the artist's exceptional skills. It features a highly intricate and realistic portrayal of Napoleon, with every detail of his face, attire, and accessories finely executed. The artist has captured the emperor's piercing eyes, full lips, and flowing hair with remarkable precision. In my over 50 years of trading antiques, I have never come across a portrait of Napoleon as the First Consul of the French Republic available for sale. The majority of the portraits of Napoleon, including miniature portraits, depict him as an emperor from 1805 to 1815, painted after his death to capitalize on the nostalgia for Napoleon and the First Empire.
 
MEASUREMENTS: Dimensions of the frame: 7.5 cm x 6.4 cm (2.95 inches x 2.52 inches).
 
CONDITION: The painting is in very good condition, with no restorations or repairs. The bronze frame displays a beautiful patina from its age and use.
