Antique (dated 1916) oil painting painted on the panel by the English - Canadian listed painter Henry Harold Vickers (1851 - 1918).

Finely hand-painted, stunning grand landscape depicts cows watering on the banks of a river in the English countryside. Signed and dated lower right, Henry Harold Vickers, 1916.

There are four paper labels on the back of the frame, two from the most important Canadian art gallery, Odon Wagner Gallery with the inventory date 2001, one old label from Toronto-based J. Frank Raw framing company, and another old paper label.

Housed in its original antique elaborate gilt frame.

CONDITION: The painting is in excellent condition, with no repairs or restorations whatsoever.

Henry Harold Vickers (1851 - 1918) was a painter, draftsman, and educator. He was born in Dudley, Worcestershire, England, and died in Ottawa, Ontario, where he had lived since emigrating to Canada in about 1881. His primary medium was oil paint. His primary subjects were landscapes, rural scenes, sheep, cattle, rivers, and portraits. His style was Realism.
