Antique Oil Painting Portrait oF the Ashkenazi Jewish Man Judaika
Antique, late 19th - early 20th century, extremely well hand painted, oil on canvas, portrait of the Ashkenazi Jewish man wearing an identifiable Eastern European Jewish everyday garment, kapote coat and the visor hat Kashkettel – Kasket. The painting is illegibly signed by the artist in the lower left corner possibly “K.Reichert” the painting canvas is stretched on its original wooden stretcher frame secured by hand forged iron nails.
CONDITION: The painting is in its original condition, with old patina. Free of repairs or restorations. The wooden frame with age splits on the corner’s joints and old crack, as a result of the age and dryness of the wood, one of the corners stretching wedge is missing.
