Antique American Civil War Confederate Fighting Knife Dagger
Antique 19th century American Confederate large fighting knife - dagger from Civil War Era (1861–65 A.D.) handmade by a Confederate blacksmith with a massive, hand-forged, tapered, sturdy double-edged steel blade with visible forging and finishing marks.
The hilt consists of an S-shaped iron crossguard with flattened, twisted terminals, a shaped bone grip with an iron ferrule, and a pommel cup.
CONDITION: The crossguard, the ferrule, and the pommel cup have a matching patina. The bone grip with a dark glossy patina and hairline crack is slightly chipped near the pommel cup.
