Antique 19th Century 1812 War American Rifleman's Gun Powder Horn
Authentic antique early 19th century, 1812 war period, American rifleman's large powder horn, made of a hollowed-out cow horn, with oval wood base secured with small iron pins, and fitted on the center with suspension-ring, brass pouring-spout with suspension loop. Its powder measure spring is in full working order.
CONDITION: In its original unattached condition with a superb mellow old patina. The braided rawhide shoulder strap is a later addition.
MEASUREMENTS: The overall length is approximately: 35 cm (13.78 inches).
