Antique 19th century German Porcelain Teapot Blue And White Strawflower Pattern

Exceptional antique 19th century German porcelain large teapot with a cover of bulbous form and a curved spout and wicker handle, mounted to the elaborate porcelain loops, the lower and upper parts including the lid moulded with fluting, hand painted with the under glaze in cobalt blue with Strawflower pattern highlighted with gold.

Marked on the base with a manufacture mark of the letter “S” with crossed lines below.

 

CONDITION: In very good condition for its age, to be over 100 years old, showing age and usage along with wear to the gold highlighting, chip on the inner rim of the cover (please see the photo). The wicker loops are not glued on the joints. No cracks, restorations or repairs.

 

MEASUREMENTS:
Height including the wicker handle: 26 cm (10.24 inches.


Height to the end of the porcelain loops not including the wicker handle: 16 cm (6.3 inches.


Overall length including spout: 22 cm (8.66 inches).
