SOLD Antique Turkish Ottoman Jade Hilted Dagger Islamic Khanjar In Silver 1700
Superb quality antique Turkish Ottoman gem-set jade -hilted dagger Islamic Khanjar with silver scabbard, Turkey, circa 1700 AD (1112 AH).
The faceted hilt of faceted form characteristic for 17th century Turkish Ottoman Khanjar daggers composed of two elegantly faceted light-green jade pieces set with turquoise and red faceted stones and enclosed by silver straps remains of gilding engraved with foliage pattern.
With sturdy double-edged slightly curve tapering Damascus steel blade with pronounced medial ridge showing extremely fine silver color Wootz pattern, stamped at the forte with oval armorer inspector marks.
The silver scabbard with chiseled crown shape mouthpiece seat with 19 turquoises stones. with shaped attachment loop to one side and gold gilt palmette shape pommel at the bottom stamped with small Ottoman assay silver hallmark sah.
CONDITION: Showing age and usage. in good condition considering its age to be over 300 years old.
