Exceptional antique 19th-century, American school painting oil on canvas, unsigned.
A finely hand-painted portrait of a young girl with her dog.
The painting is stretched on its original wooden stretcher frame and mounted in its original period gilded wooden frame.
CONDITION: in its original condition, no repairs or restorations whatsoever.
Oil paint with craquelure, one vertical tear in the upper left side, a few minor holes on both sides of the girl (about 5 or so).
Minor wear to frame consistent with age.
MEASUREMENTS:
Dimensions with the frame: 78cm x 68 cm (30.7 inches x 26.8 inches).
Dimensions without the frame: 60 cm x 50 cm (23.6 inches x 19.7 inches).
