Antique Islamic Persian Qajar Dynasty Qalam Zani Tinned Copper Vase
A standing antique Islamic Persian Qalam Zani tinned copper vase of most likely late Qajar Dynasty.The vase is of intricate baluster-form, made of very well hand hammered extremely thick copper, embossed and finely hand chased in low relief with six elaborated medallions containing various scenes inspired by the graceful and romantic lifestyles of the Persians with figures wearing traditional Persian Qajar costumes. The medallions are surrounded by scrolling floral tendrils and perching birds all including the base executed in traditional Persian Ghalamzani design on the blackened ground and signed by the artist. CONDITION: Showing age and usage, the tin plating is slightly worn and has a nicely aged patina.
