SOLD Antique Islamic Russian Caucasian Belt Buckle 19th Century Caucasus
SOLD A large antique, 19th century, Islamic Russian Caucasian elaborate belt buckle, formed of two detachable parts made of various metals, including silver, niello. The outer face overlaid with an engraved sheet of silver decorated with niello designs, within, shaped segmental bands of beadwork, and set with raised domed bosses, retaining its original locking pin with the chain.The inner side fitted with loops for the leather belt.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length, (including the curve faces of the buckle): 26.5cm (10.43 inches).
Distance from one end to the other, (in a straight line to the far end of the buckle): 21.8 cm (8.58 inches). Width: 3.5 cm (1.38 inches).
Weight: 181 grams (6.38 ounces).
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age, showing the age and usage.
