Antique 18th century Indian Hindu Bronze Statue of Vasudeva Carrying Krishna

A very rare antique 18th century Indian Hindu Bronze Statue depicting Vasudeva Carrying Krishna across the river Jumma to save him from King Kamsa. He is wearing a long flowing dhoti and necklace, the face is with a raised urna and the hair drawn into a high chignon with an elaborate headdress, carrying a baby Krishna adorned with a necklace, armbands and armlets, holding the vajra in his right hand and a ball in his left hand and with an elaborate headdress on his head.

The statue is mounted on a later added wooden stand with the Sticker - label “OUDE KUNST NEDERLAND CERTIFIED OVER 100 YEARS OLD”.

Height including the stand: 14 cm (5 1/2 inches).
