Antique 17th- 18th century Chinese Qing Dynasty bronze hanging censer (incense burner). The compressed, rounded shape of the censer is perfectly balanced, with a bulbous body adorned with two intricately detailed lion-heads on either side. The rim of the censer is affixed with three suspension loops, which not only adds to its functionality but also adds an elegant touch to its overall design. The censer is a true masterpiece showcasing the craftsmanship and attention to detail characteristic of the Qing Dynasty.

 

MEASUREMENTS:

Width: 19 cm (7.5 inches).

Height with loops: 13 cm (5.12 inches).

WEIGHT: 1.727 kg (3.807).

 

CONDITION: Good condition for its age, shows its age and use, with a nice dark patina. The base is pierced with two holes.

 

PROVENANCE: A similar censer was sold by Christie's on Nov 8, 2011. LOT 663.
