Antique Indo Persian Islamic Mughal Indian Damascus Steel Sword Talwar Tulwar

Antique, 18th century, Indo-Persian, Islamic, Mughal India, Udaipur Rajasthan, Indian sword, Talwar-Tulwar.
DETAILS: Slightly curved, single-edged, very heavy and sturdy blade with a false edge (Yelmen), hand-forged from Damascus steel with excellent quality watered pattern.
The steel hilt of the Shah Jahani type comprised of a baluster grip, a cross-guard formed of shaped quillons and long langets, a large disc-shaped pommel decorated with carved radiating rays, and surmounted with a helmet-shaped finial with a spike.
Based on my over 50 years of handling antique swords, this sword can easily cut through the Indo Persian steel helmet Khula Khud.
REFERENCES:
A comparable sword with a similar hilt and blade dating back to 1725 AD is published in the book "Indian Arms and Armour" by G.N. Pant. Volume II. PLATE XIII.
