Antique 19th Century Indo Persian Brass Shield North-West India

Spectacular antique 19th century Indo Persian Brass shield possibly, from Gujarat, North-West India. The shield of the circular convex form made of solid brass with applied bosses and a crescent moon. Finely hand repoussé and chiseled in low relief with winged figures on dense and a classical Indian hunting scene (shikargah), depicting lions hunting antelopes and elephants on the floral ground, affixed on the reverse by four ring-bolts for straps (to hold the shield).

MEASUREMENTS: Diameter: 38 cm (14.96 inches)

CONDITION: It is in good condition for its age, showing age and usage, one of the ring-bolt with a sign of old repair soldering, please see the last picture.

Weight: 1.271 kg (2.8021 pounds)
