Antique 18th-19th Century Indo-Persian North Indian Sword Kora

Antique, Indo-Persian, North Indian 18th-19th century, Mughal period Indian sword kora with a steel hilt in the form of a traditional Mughal pistol, with the lobed pommel, and decorated in silver koftgari with foliage. 
A large, hand-forged steel blade in the style of Nepalese bark with a tip shaped in the form of an elephant's ear. Both faces are elaborately chiseled in low relief with Surya, the Sun God, and lions and elephants, all amongst the profusely chiseled foliate patterns.
CONDITION: Showing age and usage, with age patina, some light wear, to the silver inlaid.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 59.5 cm (23.43 inches)

A related sword located in the National Museum of Ethnology in the Netherlands and dated by museum experts to the 18th – 19th century is published in the book "Armi e Armature Orientali" by Gianni Vianello, Figure 43 a, b. (Please see the last picture attached to the listing).
