Antique 17th -18th Century Polish Or Hungarian Mace Buzdygan Buzogányok

Antique 17th - early 18th century Polish or Hungarian mace "Buzdygan- Buzogányok " with a massive bronze head formed of twelve shaped flanges surmounted at the top by a domed cup with a small bun-shaped pommel. The wooden shaft is wrapped with brass tape riveted with nails and encased at the top with a brass socket and brass handle at the bottom, pierced with a hole for the suspension cord.
These type maces were used as battle weapons and bared by a high-ranking officer and were a very conspicuous symbol of his position as the army commander.

CONDITION: Showing age and usage, with old patina, split on the seam the brass handle, Age cracks in the wooden shaft.
