SOLD Antique Japanese Dagger Superb Tanto In Signed By Artist Bone Mounts 19th Century Meiji

SOLD Antique late 19th century Meiji period superb quality Japanese dagger tanto, with signed ox bone mounts. The handle and scabbard are superbly hand carved in high relief with Japanese samurais in various combat scenes, and pine trees at the back and signed by the artist in Japanese characters within an oval cartouche on the lower part of the scabbard. Has a slightly curved single edged good quality sturdy steel blade with a beveled spine and brass seppa.


In having over 40 years of experience as an antique dealer dealing in antiques, I have never had for sale such a fine quality of a Japanese dagger and this is unquestionably a true Japanese piece of art.


CONDITION: The dagger is in good condition considering its age to be over 100 years old and shows age and usage. Minor age cracks as common in these types of material. Please notice that the pictures in the listing are part of the description of the condition of the object.
