SOLD Antique 19th century Imperial German Prussian cavalry officer's sword Model 1852. The regulation steel basket hilt with ribbed wooden grip covered by shark skin. Slightly curved single edged steel blade, cut with a fuller finely etched on the both faces with floral sprays and panoply of arms and armor, banners and cannons, and leaves along the spine.


Complete with its black painted steel scabbard with two suspension rings. The guard and scabbard are stamped with unit marking I.97.

CONDITION: The steel hilt is slightly pitted with the nickel plating mostly worn out, the scabbard had been repainted recently. Otherwise it is in good condition considering its age.

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length with the scabbard: 99.3 cm (39 1/8 in). Length of the sword without the scabbard: 97.2 cm (38 1/4 in). Length of the blade: 84.5 cm (33 1/4 in).
