SOLD Antique 19th Century Imperial German Cavalry Trooper’s sword M1889 regulation steel hilt with large basket guard pierced with heraldic Prussian eagle in the circular cartouche the one piece grip dark brown composition ribbed grip with finger rest and steel pommel. Long Straight pipe backed quill pointed single edged steel blade stamped on the ricasso by the maker Alex Coppel Solingen in its steel scabbard with suspension ring.
The quillon with regimental stamping, 1.J.P.79.The back of the blade, pommel, ferrule and the inner site of the quillon stamped with inspector marks.
CONDITION: the sword is in good condition considering that its age to be of 100 years. Crack in the grip, the scabbard has minor dents and corroded shoe.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length with the scabbard: 99 cm (39 in), overall length without the scabbard: 97.2 cm (38.1/4 in), length of the blade: 82.2 cm (32 3/8 in).
