SOLD Antique 19th Century German Napoleonic Württemberg Military Shako Helmet

SOLD Antique 19th century German Napoleonic Württemberg military shako helmet Black leather body, with front and rear visor, the front pick with brass trim, on the front is a brass diamond shaped badge made of several elements with crowned "FR" Royal Cipher for King Friedrich I surmounted by a plume tube, leather chin-strap with applied brass scales with brass lion head side posts, brass bottom band and supports on body, brown leather inside liner.

CONDITION: The lather surface distressed as well as wear and craquelure overall with age and use. The plume is missing and there is a small hole in the crack on the top of helmet. The brass “V” shaped reinforcing mounts on the sites are bent slightly. There is an absence of the buckle from the chin-strap. The brass fittings have traces of gold gilding.

MEASUREMENTS (approximately):

Height: From the top of the plume tube.23.5 cm (9 1/4 in).

Overall length, from the front of the peak to the end of the rear visor: 28.5 cm (11 1/4 in).
