SOLD Antique, 19th century, Turkish Ottoman Islamic dagger Jambiya, the hilt is of characteristic ottoman form composed from white metal, brass and twisted copper wire. A sturdy double – edged, curved blade showing, slightly visible, a fine Damascus steel pattern. Brass scabbard adorned ensuite to the hilt, pommel with repousse foliage pattern.

CONDITION: Showing the age and usage, wear, minor split in the soldering at the joint of the scabbard, blade with signs of scratches and sharpening, missing wooden insert from the scabbard so the blade is not fitting tight in the scabbard, otherwise, in good condition considering its age.

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length with the scabbard: 35.5cm ( 14 inches). Overall length without scabbard: 33.5 cm (13 1/8 inches).
