SOLD Antique 19th century North African Islamic Maghrebi Arab Spahis horse saddle ensemble consists of 3 pieces: The saddle cover with a tall round pommel and high cantle, a saddle blanket, and a neck collar with an elaborate tassel. All are made of leather and fabric decorated with bullion embroidery in a repeated Arabesque design.
CONDITION: Absence of the wooden tree. Signs of usage with some age wear overall, including: leather, fabric, and embroidery. Some areas on the horse blanket is repaired by leather straps and patches, some staining marks, some of the embroidery thread and the tassels near the blanket are missing, all of this is an aspect from a used antique that is over 100 years old.
