SOLD Rare Antique 18th Century Turkish Ottoman Islamic Bandoleer/Bandolier Pouch. Leather pouch of slightly curved rectangular form. The front flap is applied with brass studs; the back is with its original leather shoulder strap has brass suspension rings and applied with brass studs. The interior is fitted with a leather insert fitted with 16 cylindrical turned wood gunpowder charges (containers).

CONDITION: Showing its age and usage, some wear, splits to the leather between the perforated holes pattern on the top of the flap. The wood gunpowder charges are slightly chipped on the edges. Fabric plugs are missing.

Complete 18th century Turkish Ottoman Bandolier pouches are very rare since the Ottoman army adopted modern firearms in the 19th century and leather cased Bandoleers were thrown out.
