SOLD A superb quality Antique, 18th -19th century, Islamic, Indo Persian, large shield, Separ - Dhal, of rounded form with convex profile, made from black painted buffalo hide. The outer surface applied with four domed silver bosses and two crescents, all decorated with repousse floral motifs, enriched with two silver fishes, and four circular silver plaques, and one scalloped metal boss (later addition). The interior fitted with embroidered leather cushion with four iron rings and pair of straps.
CONDITION: Showing the age and usage, edges of some silver bosses impaired, otherwise in very good condition.
