SOLD Antique Chinese Qing dynasty period 1644 -1912 Large Bronze Ceremonial elaborate Ceremonial Polearm Halberd head. The large central block in the form of the hollowed box is not cast, but hand made of several separate elements riveted together, forming Daoist auspicious emblems adorned with chiseled ornaments comprising a central blade in the form of the Wisdom Sword of Manjushri, decorated on the top with a chiseled auspicious Cash coin emblem with inline and scroll borders
The socket of the finial, surmounted by a full modeled Qiulong horned dragon head inserted in his open jaw a base of the Wisdom Sword blade.
DIMENSIONS: Height: 50 cm (19.68 inches). Width: 34.8 cm (13.7 inches).
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age to be over 100 years showing its age and usage. The end of the tubular socket is injured, absence of the wood pole.

Two related Chinese Ceremonial Polearms are published, in the Bonhams catalogue of the famous collection of the multimillionaire Jacq Desenfans. This collection is counted as the highest museum quality Eastern Arms and Armour and Art. London 10 April 2008. At the price. GBP 2000 – 3000. (10 years ago, when antiques were not as expensive as today). These two Polearm's are not as fancy as our polearm.
