SOLD An extremely fine quality Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Embroidery Art panel of light blue silk finely embroidered in Peking knot with two large bats amidst beautiful peony flowers embroidered in satin stitch bordered by black silk bands gauzily woven with butterflies with leafy sprigs of flowers. The back lined in blue silk.
DIMENSIONS: Approximately when placed flat: Length: 51.5 cm (20 1/4 in), Width: 19 cm (7 1/2 in).
CONDITION: Showing the age and usage black silk bands worn .The back lining worn with tears and holes, however, this can be professionally repaired. We do not perform any repairs or restorations on our antiques. There are no holes or applied patches. Please note that this is an antique, over 100 year old textile, which was well used, so a perfect condition cannot be expected.
This embroidery comes from an old Canadian collection of Oriental Art, including many Chinese robes and related items which we are in the process of photographing and placing for sale for the first time.
