Antique Chinese Engraved Dear Bone Opium Pipe -SOLD-
SOLD Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty late 19th century engraved dear bone, opium pipe stem. The cylindrical stem consisting of four carved antler sections, each showing neatly engraved designs of Taoist immortals surrounded by clouds, rockwork, and flowers with auspicious objects and landscape. Surmounted by a turned base for the bowl.
CONDITION: The bowl and the mouthpiece missing, old wear and traces of use, with some deflections, some aged cracks to the antler. Since the glue on the joints of the stem is dried up the stem joints are slightly loose.
