Antique Islamic Medieval 11th–13th c Khwarezmid Bamiyan Sgraffito Ceramic Bowl
An authentic antique, Islamic Medieval 11th - 13th century A.D. (391 AH – 700 AH), Central Asia Khwarezmid EmpireBamiyan, sgraffito, earthenware, terracotta bowl with flaring body rising from a short foot. The center of the interior incised (hence “Sgraffiato”) with central medallion with stylized birds heads motif, the surface of the walls incised with a zigzag motif divided by vertical green lines radiating from the center, all on the cream-colored glaze background.
CONDITION: In good, intact condition, with signs of age with old iridescent earthen patina and wear.
DIAMETER: 18 cm (7.09 inches) Height: 8 cm (3.15 inches).
