A scarce antique 18th century circa 1700-1763 AD Polish military eagle. An extremely well made of silvered copper Polish Crowned Eagle with finely hand-chiseled details. Upon his breast is a crowned heraldic shield with bipartite field depicts the coat of arms of Electorate of Saxony, the crossed swords of the Imperial Arch-Marshal, coat of arms of the House of Wettin and the green crancelin, inside a wreath of two branches, coat of arms of Saxony.

Image of Polish Eagle bearing on his chest the coat of arms of Electorate of Saxony was used from 1697 to 1763 during the reign of Augustus II (The Strong), King of Poland (1697 -1733) and Elector of Saxony and his son Augustus III King of Poland (1734 -1763) and Elector of Saxony.

REFERENCES: A very similar eagle appears on the Polish officer's gorget of the Royal Foot Guard in the first half of the 18th century, which is in the Polish Army Museum collection in Warsaw (Muzeum Wojska Polskiego w Warszawie). Please see the last pictures in the listing.

CONDITION: Overall in good condition showing its age and usage, some wear to silver plating, with nice dark patina, some attachment pins are broken off.
