Ancient 1000-600 BC Celtic Bronze Socketed Axe Head

A very nice example of an authentic ancient Celtic bronze socketed axe head (circa 1000-600 BC.). Cast of Copper alloy axe head of trapezoid form with a flared cutting edge, decorated on both sides with moulded ridged bands and vertical ribs pattern with a hole throughout for a haft.
Most European of the bronze socketed axe heads are cast on the side with the fastening loop on top for securing the axe head to a shaped wooden haft for use.
